BURNING SESSION

C’est la rencontre entre Stéphane Edouard et Julien Mercier.

Après avoir préparé mon set-up, composé des modulaires, de l’ordinateur, et de divers autres synthétiseurs, notamment en prévoyant de détourner des PUBs mythiques des années 80s, qui ont marqué notre enfance, j’ai invité Stéphane à venir improviser le temps d’une après-midi.

La batterie au doigts de Stéphane, au son sec et au groove incroyable, rencontre les textures singulières des modulaires, les accords au son généreux des synthétiseurs analogiques, et le cuivre du jeu improvisé de la trompette.

Il en résulte une musique une musique  fraiche et sauvage, impossible à répertorier, un ovni musical en somme.

 

This is the meeting between Stéphane Edouard and Julien Mercier.

After having prepared my set-up, composed of modulars, computer, and various other synthesizers, in particular by planning to divert legendary ADS from the 80s, which marked our childhood, I invited Stéphane to come and improvise with me.

Stéphane's finger drums, with their dry sound and incredible groove, meet the singular textures of the modulars, the generous-sounding chords of the analog synthesizers, and the brass of the improvised trumpet play.

The result is a music incredibly fresh and wild, impossible to catalog, a musical UFO in short.
